What Are You Doing This Weekend?


FRIDAY
Jungle Boogie at the Zoo. This week's entertainment is Ticket to the Beatles. Bring the whole family for a free concert in the center of the Zoo. 5-8 p.m.

Friday Night Flicks in Frenchtown. 7:30 and the movie begins at dusk. At 4th and Clark in historic St. Charles on the grounds of the Academy of the Sacred Heart. This week's movie: Indiana Jones.

Ballwin Days. This annual community festival includes lots of live entertainment, a midway with rides, a kids corner with games, crafts and contests, a parade and much more. Continues Saturday and Sunday.

Music+Movies at Laumeier. Picnic baskets and lawn chairs are encouraged. Tonight's band is Boogie Chyld at 7 p.m. Movie: Pee-wee's Big Adventure Rated PG. 8:30 p.m.

Wildwood's Movie in the Plaza. The City of Wildwood will show a movie on a big screen in the Town Center Plaza, just west of City Hall. No reservation required. The movies start just after dusk and the city provides popcorn, beverages, and the movie all free of charge. The Plaza is an outdoor venue. Just bring lawn chairs or a blanket for seating. Tonight's movie: ET: The Extra-Terrestrial.

Full Moon Over the Confluence. Enjoy the warm night breezes with your family and take a leisurely walk from the slough to the Confluence to see the full Strawberry moon rise over the Confluence. Nature’s nightshift creatures will be starting on their evening activities. Bats and moths will glide silently by while crickets, katydids, and frogs sing their songs. We will look for “eyeshine” reflected in the eyes of the animals of the night. 7:30-9 p.m. For families with kids ages 6 and up. At Columbia Bottom Conservation Area, 801 Strodtman Road in North County.

St Peter's Movie in the Park. Come to City Centre Park's amphitheatre in St. Peters to watch a free movie in the park. This month's film: Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (the 1971 version). The movie will begin at dusk (approx. 8:15 p.m.). The amphitheatre is located behind City Hall beside the parking lot at Rec-Plex South.

SATURDAY

Lowe's Build & Grow Clinic. Build a Monster Truck. 10-11 am. But register first!

BassPro Family Fun. Make a camping photo frame. Noon - 2pm. AND OTHER ACTIVITIES!

Michael's Make it - Take it. 10-2pm. Looks like the kids will be making some patriotic stuff!

SUNDAY

Family Sunday at the Art Museum. Each Sunday in June, families can visit the Saint Louis Art Museum to observe works of art, experiment with ideas and art materials, and conclude that art + science = fun. 1-4 p.m. Saint Louis Art Museum in Forest Park.

Clayton Concert. Oak Knoll park in Clayton sponsored by the City of Clayton. Families are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets, or terrace seating is available. Tonight's musical entertainment: Flaming Pie. At the corner of Big Bend Blvd. and Clayton Road. 5-7 p.m. More information: 314-290-8544.
