What Are You Doing This Weekend?

FRIDAY

Are snakes really slimy? How do they move, smell, hear and catch food? Kids ages 4-6 can learn the answers to those questions and discover other things about snakes. They can also observe live Missouri snakes and be able to touch them. Come prepared to take a short walk to look for snakes in their natural habitat. 9:30-11 a.m. at August A. Magic House's monthly free family event sponsored by Target. The Magic House holds Free Family Nights every third Friday of the month. These special nights enable a family (no more than two adults and four of their own children) to enjoy the more than 100 hands-on exhibits in the museum. 5:30-9 p.m.

The Grammy nominated musical group Trout Fishing in America will perform a free concert at 7:00 p.m. at St. Louis County Library Headquarters, 1640 S. Lindbergh. Doors will open at 6 p.m.

Where Do Butterflies Go When it Rains? Kids ages 3-6 can explore where butterflies go to stay safe and dry when it rains through stories, experiments, a craft, songs and games. Kite Festival, open to the public this year on Saturday, May 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Woodlands Sports Park.
The St. Peters Rangers Division sponsors the Kite Festival each year for area families to get out to the park and enjoy the fun and wholesome activity of kite-flying. The first 100 kids will receive free kite-building kits. Refreshments will be available at a nominal cost.
