What Are You Doing This Weekend?

A favorite thing about my site for many is the WEEKEND POST. Here is a little of what's going on this weekend for FREE in our great city....



FRIDAY

Oak Bend Storytime. 10 am. St Louis County Library-Oak Bend Branch. Lap time for ages 6 months - 2 years. (314) 994-3300.

Lewis & Clark Storytime. 10 am. Family story time for ages 2-5. St. Louis County Library-Lewis & Clark Branch. (314) 994-3300.

Storytelling in the Galleries: Your Art's Desire. Listen to stories about characters who like to paint, draw and make things with their hands. 10:30 a.m. At the Missouri History Museum in Forest Park.

Time for Twos. Story time for two year olds. There is a second session starting at 11:00am. Limit 15 per session. Registration is required. St. Chas City County Library. (636) 978-7926.

Science Fun For Little Ones. Simple science projects for preschoolers. Ages 3-6 Limit 15. Registration begins Thursday, December 31. (so it could be filled, but it's worth a call considering the weather). 10:00-10:30 am & 1:30-2:00 pm. Also at St Chas City County Library.

Teaching Your Baby to Sign. Sign language. Babies from 6 months and up. 10:30-11 a.m. Whole Foods Market, Town and Country.


Child-free lunch or shopping for parents. Parents can shop or enjoy lunch while children enjoy books, crafts and coloring. A healthy snack is provided. Limited to 8 potty-trained children. Noon to 2 p.m. Whole Foods Market, Town and Country.


Owl Prowl. Who is that hooting it up each January evening? Owls, that's who. Families can learn what makes owls such effective night hunters and why they hoot so much this time of year. Dress to go outside. 7-8:30 p.m. Rockwoods Reservation, 2751 Glencoe Road, Wildwood.



SATURDAY


Lowe's Build & Grow Clinic. Have your kids create a coin bank. Register beforehand! 10-11 am.

Babies R Us Baby Shower. 12-3 pm. Pregos can go check out vendors, products, prizes, ideas, etc. We did this w/ our 2nd & it was fun. They even had a sheet cake.

Contemporary Art Museum of St. Louis. Free admission day. 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Admission is free to all on Wednesdays and Saturdays. (314) 535-4660.

Fitness Fest. Take your family indoors this chilly weekend to enjoy swimming, ice skating, cardio and weight equipment, basketball, volleyball and free group fitness classes at the St. Peters Rec Plex Fitness Fest. 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.


What's in a Name? Kids ages 6-12 can enjoy a slide show of drawings of Missouri wildflowers and play a game to sharpen their identification skills. 9:30-11 a.m. At the August A. Busch Memorial Conservation Area, 2360 Highway D, St. Charles.

SUNDAY


Family Fun Day. Shake off the mid-winter blues and join in on a fun-filled afternoon of hands-on activities, music, magic shows, costumed presenters and more. 1 p.m. at the Missouri History Museum in Forest Park.

Family Sunday: Dress Up! This January, it's all about beautiful things to wear. From elaborate gold jewelry to stiff neck ruffs, or bodly pattered cloth to finely etched armor, each fashionable item tells a story. See some of the "must haves" from throughout the ages and create an artful fashion statement of your own. 1-4 p.m. St. Louis Art Museum in Forest Park.
