MagicJack?

Has anyone tried or have opinions about the controversial MagicJack?

We have had magicjack since Sept. and haven't had any problems. People we have called could not tell any difference. We have a freind that has had it a little longer than we have and he hasn't had any problems either. The only thing is you have to leave your pc on for it to work.

We have a Magicjack...LOVE it - for the price of less than $2 a month and FREE VM + long distance...though it messes up sometimes and we don't have a phone when the internet is out...it's worth the trouble to us. Really don't even use it much but helps if we ever get close to our minute usage on our cell phones or as an alternate number...the cool thing is the VM messages go to an email also so even if the phone isn't working right - people can still leave VM and you can listen to them on your PC. Also, you can do call forwarding for FREE so that's pretty cool...we've had it for well over a year...won't go back to a landline as far as we're concerned...not worth the money!

We use a magic jack to monitor our home alarm. It took some tweaking by the alarm technician to make it happen but it works fine. Calls are good quality but we cannot send a fax using it. No problem though, as most things can be scanned an e-mailed.
