Storytelling in the Galleries: A Moose on the Loose. 10:30 am. Join special guest Katherine Blackburn who will present a multimedia storytelling of the book A Moose on the Loose, a holiday tale in which a magical moose passes along encouraging notes to children from Santa. Missouri History Museum in Forest Park.
Christmas Tree Walk. The city of Maplewood hosts this 8th annual event, which kicks off with the grand lighting of the tree at 6 p.m. in Citizens Park. Free carriage rides, a visit from Santa and singing by carolers are also party of the celebration.
Snowflake Festival. Oodles of snow-filled, holiday fun will be packed into this free event featuring sleigh rides, cookies, carols and a visit from Santa. 6-8 p.m. at Glazebrook Park, Godfrey, Ill.
Painting the Birds. Kids ages 10 and up can learn about birds and their habitat through sketching and painting. 10-11:30 a.m. At August A. Busch Memorial Conservation Area, 2360 Highway D, St. Charles. More information and to register: 636-441-4554.

Build and Grow Clinic. Lowe's. 10-11 am. Make the world's cutest wooden gingerbread house. My kiddos did this last year & they're so sweet...again this year, they sit beneath our tree. Register first! (thru their website)

Santa at the Old Log Cabin. Bring your camera for free photos with Santa at the Old Log Cabin in Old Town St. Peters from 1-3 p.m.
Junior Audubon. Wild Wings of Winter. Kids ages 8-14 can make bird feeders, gain skills in identifying winter birds and learn how to become citizen scientists with the St. Louis Audubon Society. 2-4 p.m. At Powder Valley Conservation Nature Center, 11715 Cragwold Road, Kirkwood. SUNDAYSafety Stop at the Magic House. St. Louis Children's Hospital's Safety Stop is visiting the Magic House from 11 a.m.- 4p.m. Get your car seats and helmets checked and learn about safety around your home. Call 314-454-KIDS to make an appointment.

Family Sunday: Wintery Wonderland. It's cold outside but your family can warm up inside the St. Louis Art Museum and enjoy projects, performances and treats. Celebrate the joys of winter by exploring cool colors, winter landscapes and joyful celebrations. Kids can make a wintery work of art to take home. Sculpture Hall. 1-4 p.m.
Free photo of your kids at WALMART. Head there this weekend from 10 am - 2pm. BUT CALL FIRST!!!!!! Not all the Walmarts are participating, so make sure before you get your kiddo all dolled up & head there that "he" will actually be there.
