What Are You Doing This Weekend?

ADMISSION IS FREE ALL WEEKEND, 12-9 pm. Visitors to The Magic House have the opportunity to donate to The Magic House's 30th Anniversary fund to provide free educational filed trips for children from disadvantaged areas. For $2 per adult or $1.50 per child, the donation reflects 1979 prices.With a $30 donation, you can purchase a goody bag. The Magic House, 516 S. Kirkwood Road, Kirkwood.
FRIDAY
Storytelling in the Galleries: Silly Squirrels. Story time in the trolley on the museum's from lawn for some squirrel watching and stories about these bushy-tailed creatures. Groups of eight of more children must register: 314-454-3114. 10:30 a.m. Missouri History Museum in Forest Park.
Free Family Night at The Magic House. It's the third Friday of the month! Your family (no more than two adults and four of their own children) get to enjoy the more than 100 hands-on exhibits in the museum. Reservations are not required. 5:30-9 pm. The Magic House, 516 S. Kirkwood Road, Kirkwood.
Nightlife Boogie. Go "wild" at Powder Valley Conservation Nature Center where you'll spend an evening learning about Missouri's nocturnal animals. There will be guided hikes, storytelling, live animals, door prizes and more. Come dressed as your favorite Missouri animals. No registration necessary. 6-9 p.m. Powder Valley Conservation Nature Center, 11715 Cragwold Road, Kirkwood. More information: 314-301-1500.
SATURDAY

Prairie Adventure. This Discover Nature: Families program takes you on a scavenger hunt to learn about plants and animals that make the prairie home. Drop in anytime between 9:30 a.m. and noon. No pre-regstration required. Shaw Nature Reserve.
Decorate Your Own Witch Hat. Halloween is just around the corner, so kids can decorate their own witch hat using an organic sugar cone and white or chocolate icing and candies. 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Whole Foods, Town and Country.
Bird Feeders. In this class, families can learn how to make a bird feeder that will help birds survive the cold winter months. Learn which seeds attract the widest variety of birds then build a bird feeder (one per family) to take home. 10 a.m. to noon. For all ages. Rockwoods Reservation, 2751 Glencoe Road, Wildwood. SUNDAY
Ottertoberfest. In honor of the fun-loving North American River Otters, the Saint Louis Zoo will host Ottertoberfest, a fall event featuring traditional German biergartens, live music, kids' activities and more. Kids activities include an otterific obstacle course, otter tracks and crafts designed for ages 2-10. 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
