FRIDAY

Music + Movies.  Friday nights in June you can have both!  Y98 Presents Music + Movies at Laumeier Sculpture Park.   Bring a blanket and the family to hear great live music and to watch a free movie. 
Music by Hudson & The HooDoo Cats followed by "The Great Outdoors"

Jungle Boogie.  The Jungle Boogie Friday Night Concert Series at the Zoo runs thru September 4. (No concert on June 19.)  Scheduled this Friday is Gumbo Head (Zydeco).  5-8 pm.

Art & Air. A family-friendly art fair in historic Webster Groves. More than 100 juried artists, food from local restaurants, live music and more. On the grounds of the Eden Theological Seminary in downtown Webster Groves. 6-10 p.m. 

Summer Soiree. Celebrate the end of school with karaoke, dancing and hanging out with friends. For ages 12-18. Registration required. 7 p.m. St. Louis County Library, Daniel Boone Branch, 300 Clarkson Road, Ellisville. More information: 636-227-9630.

SATURDAY

Get Garage Sale'ing!:  
  • Complex Garage Sale:  Sakura Gardens.  10079 Sakura Dr (that's the address for the office) (next to Concord Bowl!)  St. Louis 63128.  From 8AM to 12PM on June 6th.
  • MOPS SALE.  7am-2 pm.  2nd annual indoor multi family garage sale with all proceeds to be used by MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) leaders to attend the national convention.  12465 Olive Blvd Parkway Baptist Church.
Home Depot's Kids' Workshop.  Make a HARDWARE SORTER.  There is no registration (so get there early!), 9 am-noon.

Botanical Garden Free Morning.  Admission to the Missouri Botanical Garden is FREE every Wednesday and Saturday morning. From 9am - Noon, St. Louis City and St. Louis County residents (bring proof of residency) can get into the garden for free all year. Free admission may not be available during special events.

Two Rivers Family Fishing Fair.  If you want to learn to fish or become a better angler, the Two Rivers Family Fishing Fair offers fun and information for the entire family. Event includes: trout pond, seminars on fishing and water safety, educational activities, make a cane pole, gifts, prizes and lots more.  10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Pere Marquette State Park, Illinois Route 100, Grafton. Bass Pro Shops Family Summer Camp.  Kiddos get to make leather keychain.  From noon to 6pm.

Podcasting Workshop. Kids ages 12-18 can learn the secrets of great podcasting and create an advertisement for the library that might be posted online. Limited to 15 participants. Registration is required. 1 p.m. St. Louis County Library, Mid-County Branch, 7821 Maryland Ave., Clayton. More information: 314-721-3008.

Getting Antsy. Ants are everywhere, every day, but how much do we know about them? Kids ages 7-12 can discover more about these interesting, social insects and take an outdoor walk to see Power Valley's biggest colony of ants. 2-3:30 p.m. Powder Valley Nature Center, 11715 Cragwold Road, Kirkwood. Reservations required: 314-301-1500. 

2 pm.  Celebrate the start of our Summer Reading Club with food, stories, prizes, face-painting, music, games, & more!  Ages 2 & up.  St. Louis County Library - Weber Road Branch.  Registration REQUIRED.

Family Fun Day.  Join us at our annual kick-off party for Summer Reading Club 2009.  St. Louis Country Library - Cliff Cave Branch.  There will be games, face painting and balloon animals.  2 pm.  There will be ticket drawings for books and toys and a special drawing for three gift certificates.  Registration is required.  All ages welcome.

Farmers' Market of Wildwood.  Held at the City Center (Plaza Drive) 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Strawberry Festival.  10 am - 5 pm.  
Kimmswick overflows with strawberries. If it is made with strawberries you will find it at this festival. Everything from Fresh Strawberries, Strawberry Shortcake, Chocolate Covered Strawberries, and Strawberry Cheesecake, to Strawberry Iced Tea. Craft and food vendors line the streets as live entertainers perform at several areas throughout town. There is even a area filled with rides for the kids. Kimmswick, Mo.  Fair is free; be prepared to pay to park.

Decorate Your Own Sugar Cookies. Kids can stop into the cafe and decorate sugar cookie. All supplies provided.   11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Summer Concert Series: Musica SLESAFree concert in the Kirkwood Park Lion's Amphitheater. 7 p.m. 

SUNDAY

Bass Pro Shops Family Summer Camp.  Kiddos get to make leather keychain.  From noon to 6pm.

Taste of Clayton.   This annual family event features the specialties of Clayton's top restaurants. Restaurateurs offer samplings in exchange for taste tickets. Proceeds will benefit St. Vincent's Ministry to the Poor, Lift for life and the Clayton Parks Foundation. Local media celebrities will be on hand to judge the popular "Most Creative Booth" contest. Part of the all-day fun is Taste, Jr., an interactive area for kids with inflatable activities and special food items. Taste Too, another special feature, will begin at 6:30 p.m. and offer an array of restaurant specialties, exquisite desserts and beverages along with live musical entertainment. At 9 p.m., a fireworks display will conclude the day-long festivities. 1:30-9 p.m.  Tickets are $1.25 each (those are exchanged for 'tastes').  But it appears that all the other festivities are free!

Crystal City Park Concert Series.  The Twin City Area Chamber of Commerce will kick off its ninth annual Concerts in the Park series @ 6:30 p.m.  The first concert will feature ROUTE 67.  Each week is a different band; 6:30-8:30 pm, running through June 28th.  Bring a blanket &/or lawn chairs.  Food/refreshments welcome.
