This might seem like common sense to you, but yesterday, I almost put my peelings from the potatoes RIGHT DOWN THE DISPOSAL.
In the spirit of not tossing money out on repair bills, I thought I'd share this (thanks Mom!):
Thanksgiving Day is the busiest day of the year for plumbers, and it's easy to guess why. With the amount of food going down the garbage disposal, something's bound to break. So do us all a favor and don't stuff corn husks, grease, bones, potato skins, egg shells, lettuce, or metal (really hoping you already knew that last one) down the disposal. Put a small amount of approved refuse down there at a time, and you can enjoy your Thanksgiving without a kitchen flooded with sewage, which is always a good goal.
