The Stork Lady Kids & Baby Consignment Sale 's 8th semi-annual children’s resale event is underway, today through Sunday. Held twice per year in the former Macy’s department store in Crestwood Court, the sale provides moms and dads with a great incentive to clean out their closets, pick up some bargains, and put a little cash in their pockets, too.
More than 300 St. Louis families will join together to sell their gently used and like-new items, so book a babysitter and plan to take some time shopping through over 25,000 pieces of clothing and 400 Halloween costumes. Brand names range from Gymboree and Hanna Andersson to Gap and Ralph Lauren. Rows of tables will hold more than 6,000 toys, books, games and DVDs. For your littlest ones, baby gear such as strollers, highchairs, bouncy seats and exersaucers will all be available.
You won’t waste your time searching for the good stuff either; The Stork Lady has strict requirements for the items they accept. Items must be in good-to-excellent condition, no clothing with rips, stains or excessive wear, shoes must be in like-new condition and all items requiring batteries must have batteries installed so that shoppers can test the items. All items are organized and displayed together in a department store-like setting, making it easy for you to shop and pay for your purchases all at one time.
Largely staffed by The Stork Lady volunteers, the semi-annual sale is the oldest and largest independently owned seasonal consignment sale in St. Louis City or County. Consignors pay a $10 participation fee and earn a percentage of their sales based on the number of volunteer shifts they fulfill. Consignors have the option of picking up their unsold items at the close of the sale or leaving them for donation to local children’s charities.The Stork Lady Kids & Baby Consignment Sale is open:
